I did not see that one coming! Overall it was a very good read with the crime solving and the backstory。 I like the movement on Mavis' house。 I wish there was more of her in the books。 She's such a fun character and balances out the annoying hard-ass Eve can sometimes be。 Peabody was kind of non-existent which was a shame and not much of Feeney either。 The side characters are really what makes these books what they are and it's not as fun when they are not as involved。I think we're going to see I did not see that one coming! Great case。 Fun inter-personal stuff。 All around great read for fans of the series。
Kathy Ray,
The author does good job of building up to the solving of the mystery but I felt it suddenly just "wrapped UP'。 The bulk of the story is the solving of the crime and there's very little new we learn about the usual characters in this series。 I enjoy Nora Roberts and would rate some of her books higher than this one。 The author does good job of building up to the solving of the mystery but I felt it suddenly just "wrapped UP'。 The bulk of the story is the solving of the crime and there's very little new we learn about the usual characters in this series。 I enjoy Nora Roberts and would rate some of her books higher than this one。 。。。more

Great story and character development。 Set it the not so distant future but with very human emotions and solutions to this suspense murder mystery。 This novel definitely kept my attention。

Another formulaic but fun addition to the series, in which Eve Dallas catches a murderer, in this case a nutcase who kidnaps women to replace the mother who abandoned him and kills them when they don't measure up。 The book drags in places before the big break comes, and then things happen so fast that there's little chance to appreciate the good police work that follows。 The final interrogation scene was disappointing; characters say they have enough to show that the suspect does not fit the leg Another formulaic but fun addition to the series, in which Eve Dallas catches a murderer, in this case a nutcase who kidnaps women to replace the mother who abandoned him and kills them when they don't measure up。 The book drags in places before the big break comes, and then things happen so fast that there's little chance to appreciate the good police work that follows。 The final interrogation scene was disappointing; characters say they have enough to show that the suspect does not fit the legal standard of insanity, but they never spell out what that standard is, so we can't see that for ourselves。 。。。more

54 books - that is just mind blowing。 AND this doesn't even include the books she writes as Nora Roberts! Great as always but Have read every single book in this series, loved everyone of them but found the last few books is just about the crime?! None off her friends lives involved with here, non of her outings with hubby, makeup hates with Trina, it misses the personal source of Eve's life which must makes it a normal crime book。 Not a STRong crime book Great as always but Have read every single book in this series, loved everyone of them but found the last few books is just about the crime?! When a woman was found on a park bench。 Homicide Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called to the scene。 She finds a baby mommy note pin to the victim。 As she investigate the dead body and then a second, she finds out atleast 1 other women who may have been kidnapped by the same man。 Eve and her team has to dig deeper to find the unsub before anyone else goes missing or gets killed
Hannah Lowe,
Really enjoyed the plot of this story but really dragged on。 I wish there were more chapters about the missing girls and their perspective as opposed to many chapters of the cops perspective。 Enjoyed finding out the ending and tying the mystery together at the end, but was dying to finish。

I selected this book to read because I have enjoyed other books by Nora Roberts aka JD Robb。 I couldn’t get into this book。 The story never grabbed my interest and the character was too creepy。
Micky Cox,
This is a must listen series for me。 The narrator does an outstanding job of bringing the wonderful characters the author has created to life and makes the plot even more intense。 In this case, you are on the edge of your seat as the characters search for missing women before they become the next body left in a childlike game。 You would think that after 54 books in this series that the author would run out of plots/cases for the characters to solve。。。。you would be 100% wrong! One thing I appreciated about this addition to the series is there wasn't this big stretch to develop the characters or try and show new things about their relationship。 I also liked the story of "before" (don't want to give any spoilers) that was mixed in。 It added a different element than simply switching to the murderer's POV。 Having said that, I could have used more action。 One thing I appreciated about this addition to the series is there wasn't this big stretch to develop the characters or try and show new things about their relationship。 I also liked the story of "before" (don't want to give any spoilers) that was mixed in。 It added a different element than simply switching to the murderer's POV。 Having said that, I could have used more action。 。。。more

Another Eve Dallas novel。 In this book, Eve has to figure out who murdered women that were left near childre4n's area dressed in clothing from the past with a new tattoo of a butterfly on the back and new piercings in the ears and belly button area。 The neck was cut, stitched up and hidden with a ribbon。 Both women resembled each other。 Another Eve Dallas novel。 In this book, Eve has to figure out who murdered women that were left near childre4n's area dressed in clothing from the past with a new tattoo of a butterfly on the back and new piercings in the ears and belly button area。 The neck was cut, stitched up and hidden with a ribbon。 Both women resembled each other。 。。。more

This is book no 54, what a delight。 A bit of a departure from the usual in that we hear from the murderer in the “before” parts。 I found it very interesting to hear the thoughts of someone who is heading to becoming a serial killer。 I like to try and pick out who that is and sometimes I get it early in a book, sometimes about the middle but with the “In Death” books I NEVER get it right!! Frustrating for me but also thrilling because it keeps me turning the pages to find out。 I’ve managed to cur This is book no 54, what a delight。 A bit of a departure from the usual in that we hear from the murderer in the “before” parts。 I found it very interesting to hear the thoughts of someone who is heading to becoming a serial killer。 I like to try and pick out who that is and sometimes I get it early in a book, sometimes about the middle but with the “In Death” books I NEVER get it right!! Okay。 I was afraid this would happen—Nora Roberts would get bored and let someone else finish her plots。 This book had no interaction of Roark & Eve as other books。 He didn’t even kiss her but once and that was on the cheek。 What’s going on???
